Microneedling is a treatment that uses a handheld device with multiple tiny needles to superficially damage the epidermis deep enough to stimulate collagen formation. The healing process and collagen stimulation can lead to improved skin texture, visibly smaller pores, diminished fine lines, and improvement of acne scarring.* Our bodies naturally help us heal through the production of stem cells that stimulate the growth of collagen, as well as with blood vessels that deliver oxygen to bodily tissues. Platelets and growth factors found in the blood stimulate those stem cells, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains three to five times as many of these substances.

By drawing your blood, spinning it down via centrifuge, and harvesting out those precious "liquid gold" cells in a highly condensed plasma (PRP), your microneedling treatment can be boosted with even further healing and collagen stimulation. The PRP is painted onto your face, neck, or décolleté and microneedled over to superficially inject it into your epidermis.*

A microneedling treatment, with or without PRP, has minimal downtime, can improve fine lines, textural issues, pitted acne scars, and creates a fantastic glow that you will notice for days to follow. True results show roughly 4-6 weeks post treatment once the collagen has begun the regrowth. At Grace Medical Aesthetics, we suggest clients looking to improve their overall skin quality opt for a monthly medical grade facial treatment. Microneedling results are best seen when treatments are done every 4-6 weeks, until the significant results you're looking for are maintained. Microneedling with PRP is not necessary more than every 4-6 months. It takes time for the PRP to work it's magic on your skin.
PRP can also being injected via needle or microcannula into the deeper layers of the skin (the dermis) to further stimulate collagen regrowth through a technique called Deep Dermal Stimulation (DDS). A DDS treatment with PRP may leave you feeling lifted in the cheeks, more volumized in the nasolabial folds, and less shadowing in the lower face. This initial lift and fullness will recede in a day or two as the PRP absorbs. Over the following 8-12 weeks, the PRP will continue to stimulate growth and slowly you will notice improvement in the skin laxity, quality, texture, and tone.

Microneedling + PRP
Microneedling with PRP takes the combines standard microneedling with the powerful anti-aging properties of platelet rich plasma (PRP). Prior to your treatment, your blood is drawn and spun down in a centrifuge to retrieve your own naturally occurring, highly concentrated plasma. This plasma is then used as the glide for your microneedling treatment. As the microneedling device creates the superficial damage, or channels, in your epidermis, the plasma can reach deeper to stimulate even more collagen growth.*

Microneedling + PRP + Deep Dermal Stimulation
